About Kyle Petersen

As a Government & Legislative Affairs Associate with Navajo Nation Washington Office, I work with the federal government and Congress to advocate for the interests and rights of the Navajo Nation, and Indian Country at-large. Through research, analysis, and monitoring of legislation and policy issues that affect the Diné people, I strive to make meaningful change in the fight for sovereignty. For NNWO, I oversee the Public Safety & Justice, Emergency Management, and Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) portfolios, as well as MMIP/Missing and Murdered Diné Relatives A graduate of St. John’s University, I majored in Government and Politics and Homeland Security (Emergency Management). I was on the Dean's List for four consecutive years, and graduated Magna Cum Laudd. I also participated in several extracurricular activities, including the William Hillcourt Museum & Carson Buck Library Committee, where I helped preserve and promote the history and legacy of the Boy Scouts of America. I am an Eagle Scout with strong leadership and management knowledge and experience across disciplines, with an even stronger work ethic. I am goal-focused and detail-oriented, taking a measure and organized approach to my work. I value collaboration and teamwork, and I have worked with various partners and stakeholders, such as TMPL Fitness Clubs and Knollwood Country Club.
