About Kyle Plamondon

Regardless of the task at hand, I am ambitious and enthusiastic - working hard and learning new practical skills along the way. I find myself mostly involved with various plant maintenance activities such as piping replacements, vessel and boiler repairs, preparing engineering work packages (EWPs), root-cause-failure-analysis (RCFA), MOCs of equipment, risk management identification, PHA/HAZOPs, and scoping for capital projects. I also handle the odd replacement or new installation of various types of rotating equipment. On a daily basis, I find myself applying various engineering codes such as ASME BPVC’s to ensure the safety of operations, maintenance crews, and all other stakeholders. I like to stretch my areas of expertise and try to encompass a large range of industry knowledge. For this reason, I also have backgrounds in computer science, some automation/control, labour as a maintenance summer student, and Power Engineering. I am a believer in finding new ways to do jobs more safely and effectively through the use of new technology. One of my favourite quotes is that "the science of today, is the technology of tomorrow" and I like to think that this can be applied to all industries.
