About Kyle Seeberger

Ever since I was a kid, I have been obsessed with how things work. I would tear apart my parents electronics, bikes, and anything I could get my hands on, just to learn how they worked (putting them back together was a completely different story!). Through High School and College, I applied this passion into engineering. When my interests diverged from the normal classroom teaching I would seek education online and through books. From sewing my own outdoor gear, to machining my own espresso tamper, I have sought to understand and recreate everything that I have laid my hands on. The one element I felt was missing from my education was how to turn a design into a physical component. This is how I started in engineering, so I wanted to learn how it was done at a larger scale. I pursued a Project Engineer position at Fabriform Plastics, where I learned first hand how parts where built, and learned to distinguish good from bad designs. I learned to work with customers to understand their design goals, and improve current designs to exceed these goals; while also being low cost to manufacture. I learned more in 2 years about drawings, materials, and production than I thought I would, and I am eternally grateful for that time. After Fabriform, I have taken what I learned and applied it as a Design Engineer at Kenworth Trucks. While at Kenworth, I have learned to design products in a global scheme, working with many different teams, focused on many disciplines. During my free time, I apply my passion of design to personal projects. From making my own ski and camping gear, to rebuilding and restoring mountain bikes and motorcycles, I have a desire to build everything I can. I am also passionate about the outdoors. I try to spend as much of my time in the woods, snow, or water. There is something magical and restorative about disconnecting from our busy world, and focusing on the here-and-now of outdoors.
