About Kyle Smit

Senior professional, commercially orientated CA, with an accomplished proven track record as a Financial Executive (17 years in the Pharmaceutical Industry). I have been part of successful management teams, the most significant being Aspen, where I was part of the Executive for the SA Commercial business (Turnover +R 6 Billion). I was integral to the successful merger of GSK (multinational) into Aspen (generic company). Before Aspen, I was FD/CFO for other Pharmaceutical Multinationals such as, Novartis Consumer, AstraZeneca (merger of 2 diverse companies) and Astra SA I decided at the end of 2012 to venture outside the Pharma industry, as I felt it was time to broaden my experience and look for something new and challenging. Since then I have consulted on various projects/matters and in 2014 ventured into the freight forwarding and clearing industry, where I was CFO for World Net Logistics (Pty) Ltd. In 2017, I then moved to property management for the Amdec Group taking care of +R 8bil asset in the form of Melrose Arch as FD. A short stint at the FD Centre resulted in me moving back int0 logistics joining Imperial (now part of DP World) in October 2020 as FD for their Market Access Consumer business in SA. In October 2023 took up the role of MD of Imperial Health Sciences (distributor of medicines into Public and Private sectors) My skills and experience transcend to sales and marketing, supply chain management and distribution. I have been actively involved in product acquisitions, commercial negotiations, integration of businesses throughout my professional career. With excellent communication, networking and well-developed interpersonal skills, I integrate well within a team and have the ability to form trusted relationships with subordinates, clients as well as superiors. Whilst focusing on the job, I am able to keep my eye on the horizon, growing and adapting organically to the environment that I am placed in. My proven track record of responsibility, integrity and commitment to company objectives has allowed me to be innovative in unlocking my growth.
