Tell me if any of this sounds familiar. You try, but you can’t seem to get enough sleep to feel refreshed. You workout. Some. But you just can’t seem to find the time, energy, or put a plan together actually to look or feel better. You love your wife and kids more than you ever really imagined you could love someone. But you know they are not getting the best version of you. The version that they deserve. The version you’d like to give them. Your faith feels stale. You believe. You try to pray. But something just feels disconnected. You had dreams about the man you would become. You would love, lead, and serve your family in a way that made you proud. And it is not that you are doing a bad job of that now. It’s just that you thought you’d be doing so much better. If any of that resonates, know that I’ve been there too. It’s a frustrating place to be. Some men are able to find their own way out. But the truth is, most of us need a little help—a guide. I know that I did. And that’s why it means so much to me to be able to do that for others. That man you dreamed you’d be is still there. He’s still inside you and probably much closer to the surface than you realize. A coach, at least in the context of how I work, doesn’t tell you what to do. Though, with your permission, I could occasionally offer some advice, that’s not really the foundation of the relationship. My function is more to be a mirror—to reflect your thoughts back to you, to ask questions so that you can consider things differently, to encourage you to take those steps that you’ve wanted to take or to help hold you accountable so that you are reminded to do the things that you said you would do. The result that I needed for myself and that I hope to help everyone I work with find is A Stronger Man (so that’s what I named my main program).
