FIRE SERVICE STORY: I started in the fire service industry at the age of 15 as a junior volunteer, where I fell in love with the job and couldn't wait to graduate and pursue a career in the fire industry. I graduated high school early and immediately entered the fire academy at Lonestar College Kingwood. I attended the degree course which consisted of 9 months of fire training toward a degree in Fire Science. From there I started my professional career with Bulverde Spring Branch Fire & EMS. I went on to work down in south Texas for the Aransas Pass Fire Department, where I spent an awesome 4 years in the Coastal Bend. These experiences opened up my eyes to the different dynamics that can be found in the fire service industry based on different geographical areas and demographics. Eventually leaving at the rank of Engineer, I returned to my home town of Bulverde, and re-joined BSB Fire/EMS, where I am still employed currently. I have spent time with several other departments on a volunteer basis, including Blanco FD, New Caney FD, and Harris County Hazmat.ENTREPRENEUR STORY:Being in the fire service, and on the fire department schedule, I have been blessed to start up several small companies in my off-duty time. My passion for owning and starting a business has grown exponentially since I started 8 years ago. The fire service has taught me about leadership, teamwork, customer service, critical thinking, hazard/risk mitigation at the highest level, and the ability to stay calm in the most extreme situations. These experiences have absolutely contributed to my capability as a small business owner and entrepreneur. I have unfortunately seen far too many businesses/department employees be affected by poor leadership, and my ultimate goal is to be the leader that everybody wants to work for. We've all heard the saying "People don't quit jobs, they quit bosses". While a silly cliche, it is so very true. I've been there, and I bet you have to. Currently, I am the Owner/CEO of Red Line Landworx, a land clearing and land management company located in the Texas Hill Country. I am also the Co-Owner of Patriot Response, a firearms training company. We teach private citizens how to protect themselves and their families in this crazy world we live in. The RED LINE brand will be expanding in the future, as we try to further reach new ways to provide professional services that may be lacking within other industries.
