About Kyle Thompson

I have spent more than twenty-two (22) years in the practice of law in Frankfort, Kentucky. During my years of legal practice, I built my office into an extremely successful, multifaceted general practice firm that provided services in a number of different legal fields. I took on a number of difficult cases, including those that other large firms had decided not to handle due to financial risk or complexities. I have practiced in courts throughout the Commonwealth and in our federal court system including arguing before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and being sworn into the United States Supreme Court by Chief Justice John Roberts in 2010. In January, 2014, I established Capital Court Authority, LLC, a private probation and drug testing company in Frankfort, Kentucky. With my staff, we provide drug testing and private probation services, GPS monitoring services, and drug testing services for many court jurisdictions in Central Kentucky, the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, and private companies. In just ten (10) years, we have become the largest judicial drug testing and private probation/court alternative companies in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. We have offices in Frankfort (main), Shelbyville, Georgetown, Lexington, Cynthiana and London, Kentucky; and we currently monitor approximately four thousand five hundred (4,500) people. We are always open to expansion of our territories and numbers of clients, both public and private in nature. In 2023, I established Capital Court Technologies, LLC, a company focused on the latest technological advances in ignition interlocks, alcohol and GPS monitoring, and the first of its kind Domestic Violence Global Positioning Systems program that not only monitors the movements of a defendant, but also provides early warning and notifications to victims. I also own a media company specializing in podcasts, music production, film and entertainment production. And, I am co-owner of my own clothing brand, Courage Couture, LLC, a line specifically created to provide positive messaging around comfortable and stylish clothing for youth and adults. I have been twice elected as a Frankfort City Commissioner (2020 and 2022) and am a candidate for the 57th District seat of the Kentucky House of Representatives. My family established and serve as board members of the Thompson Family Legacy Foundation, Inc. I am married to Jen (Vest) Thompson (Flatwoods, Kentucky) and the father of Emma (21), Olivia (19), and Landon Cooper (13) and bonus kids, Kate (17) and Ryder (14).
