About Kyle Wilhite

I'm a seasoned field and research biologist. I have extensive experience in bio-acoustics and animal communication, experimental design, data management, and data analysis. As a research assistant for the Smithsonian and Salisbury University, I managed an NSF funded behavioral genetics research lab with 12-15 undergraduate researchers. We looked at the ecology of behavior and whether there is a genetic link to predispose an organism to specific behaviors. While managing the research in the lab I also worked on web design, grant proposals, technology maintenance/upkeep (sound equipment and robotics), mentoring, and training and supervising a field crew. I have learned to manage multiple projects at one time and to tackle complex problems through time management and creative thinking. I work well and often as an individual, but I really thrive working with a team where we collaborate with each other and solve big problems together. I have a Ph.D. in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior from UT Austin, an MS. in Applied Biology (Focus: Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior) from Salisbury University, a BS in Environmental Science from University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and a BS in Biology from Salisbury University.
