About Kyle Wolf

My background includes a BS in Finance from USD. As an experienced Financial Analyst, Leader and Strategist, I am utilizing my extensive experience across various industries which includes Banking, Insurance, Information Marketing, and Building industries. As a Teller at Washington Mutual (now, Chase Bank) at the beginning of my junior year in High School, I had to work at least 25 hours per week to keep my internship. In order to manage this with a full schedule in high school and then college, I had to learn to multitask, work smarter and compartmentalize. Despite such a challenging schedule, I thrived at both work and school and learned that I actually work best when under time pressure. The next several jobs provided me with increasingly more responsible positions in Finance and Accounting where I was able to learn well-known industry tools such as Excel and Microsoft Office software. As a Financial Analyst at Havas Edge, the month-end closing process decreased from 10 to 3 days under my leadership. This was achieved by my successful exploitation of Excel templates, adjusting macros and the redesign of databases used to run new monthly and ad-hoc reports. My current position at Coast Building Products involves leading the month-end closing process which I have again shortened using my knowledge and skill with Excel macros. Finding inefficiencies in our operations, finding projects that have missing costs and properly forecasting revenue and expenses are at the core of my job. Along with ensuring that our P&L is correct, I also assist in managing the office staff with HR. Learning to code, so I can create new macros, is a continuing endeavor. Being detail-oriented, responsible and self-motivated have proven to be priceless assets in pursuing a career in Finance. Working as part of a team, being a decision maker and finding inefficiencies have helped me to feel that I have had a positive impact on all of the companies that I have had the privilege to work with.
