About Kylee Mattson

As a Policy Fellow at the City of Pittsburgh, I conduct policy research and analysis for the City Council of Pittsburgh's District 3, focusing on economic development, local government, and government administration. With over 1.5 years of experience in this role, I have contributed to several projects and initiatives that aim to improve the quality of life and opportunities for the residents and businesses of Pittsburgh. I am also a graduate student pursuing a Masters of Science in Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University, where I learn and apply advanced skills and methods in economic analysis, statistical causal inference modeling, and policy analysis and writing. My academic and professional interests are driven by my passion for solving complex and impactful problems in the public sector, promoting equitable access to assistance programs and education, and using data and evidence to inform and evaluate policies and programs. I have a passion for promoting public service excellence, and using data-driven and social science backed methods to improve administration of public services. I am currently looking for a full-time role starting Summer 2024 in Washington D.C. or Pittsburgh, PA.
