About Kylie James

I am a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Iowa, currently working as a manufacturing engineering intern at Brunk Industries, where I contribute to the manufacturing of lifesaving medical components such as pacemaker parts, insulin delivery systems, and neurostimulators. This experience has given me valuable insight into precision manufacturing, tight-tolerance components, and the quality standards required in the medical device industry. Outside of my internship, I've explored hands-on design and fabrication through involvement with student engineering teams like Iowa Baja Racing. These experiences, along with my coursework, continue to grow my interest in how engineering can solve real-world problems. I'm passionate about contributing to meaningful innovation and exploring opportunities across the medical, automotive, and aerospace industries. I also have strong interest in exploring research and development positions. I am especially interested in roles where I can apply my skills in manufacturing, design, and process improvement to make a lasting impact.
