About Kym Williams

I’m a building safety professional with over 25 years of experience in the built environment. Over the past 18 years, I’ve specialized in the permitting and regulatory compliance of capital transit/public works infrastructure projects across the Puget Sound region. My focus includes large-scale light rail infrastructure and complex public works spanning multiple jurisdictions. I bring strategic oversight, deep technical knowledge, and hands-on regulatory experience to projects that shape regional mobility. My work is at the intersection of code enforcement, interagency coordination, and infrastructure delivery, helping organizations meet critical safety, performance, and compliance standards in one of the most challenging regulatory environments in the country. Leadership Philosophy:* Purpose-Driven Leadership * I don’t pursue leadership for status or authority.* I lead to ensure people’s humanity and potential are fully recognized and supported.* Core Values * Fairness * Honesty * Curiosity * Accountability * Leadership Approach * I prioritize collaboration and inclusive decision-making.* I take full responsibility for final decisions and their consequences.* Ethical Decision-Making * I lean on personal and professional ethics in challenging situations.* I choose integrity over expediency, even when it’s harder.* Impact and Intent * My leadership is rooted in service—to others and to a greater good.* I want people to trust that my decisions are made with purpose, principle, and care.
