About Kynan Smyth

Enamoured with hydroponic food production systems since the 1990’s for its resource efficiency and crop vigour I have been developing knowledge in the field since. Recognising food choices are a key contributor to our environmental stability I am driven to be a part of an industry intrinsic to the wholistic solution. A shift to plant based diets and medicines will be fundamental in realising global food security as Earths populations rapidly increase to 9.5 billion within three decades. Now more than ever with the challenges of our climate increasing a greater emphasis is required on protected and controlled horticultural environments for the quality of social existence. Control through technology facilitates maximisation of plant yields via multiple factors, delivers with the precision our precious resources deserve, only set minimums with which a crop requires to grow and enables the reuse of elements to realise closed loop production systems. In doing this we come one step closer to both environmental stability and global food security so that our next generation may receive a planet that is habitable and not hungry; a peacefully sustainable home.
