About Kyra Davidson

I am passionate about laboratory and shelter animal medicine, welfare, behavior, and enrichment, with a strong commitment to the One Health Approach. My experiences, including laboratory animal care and surgical assistance, mouse colony management, animal behavior & enrichment, and veterinary assisting, have provided me with a well-rounded perspective on animal health and welfare and the various roles of animals in society. Currently, I work as a Colony Management Technician at Sarepta Therapeutics. I am dedicated to improving and refining research models while prioritizing animal welfare. Beyond the lab, I apply my knowledge of animal behavior and welfare through dog training services in my community, strengthening my hands-on experience in behavior modification and positive reinforcement training. In December 2024, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a major in Animal Sciences with a Biosciences specialization and a minor in Epidemiology from The Ohio State University. While at OSU, I founded One Health Club to foster interdisciplinary collaboration among students passionate about animal, human, and environmental health. I am committed to advancing animal health and welfare through research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovative solutions. We rely on animals just as much as they rely on us, and I'm dedicated to ensuring the health of both animal and human populations in my community.
