About Kyra Inglis

As a high school student, I listened to old radio programs, and while studying Art, I became obsessed with old advertisements, graphic design, and the way words are used to promote or sell products or ideas.As an Art Major at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, I continued to study how form follows function, and the subtleties between beauty and the sublime. While studying lithography on a 300-year-old printing press, I learned how to better design with a four color printing process, and the needs of printmakers in terms of production and layout. Along with Art, I studied Feature Writing and became a Contributing Writer for Blush Magazine Chattanooga.After graduating from UT Chattanooga, I was hired as a reporter and managing editor for Marion County Newspapers. As a reporter I learned the ins and outs of city, county and state government, the importance of deadlines, and what it took to produce content for two weekly newspapers.My next opportunity came from the Marion County Election Commission, where I learned the basics of planning and running elections in Tennessee. From here, I used managerial experience gained from Walmart in combination with knowledge gained about Tennessee Election Law to become a County Election Administrator.Now I begin a new phase - I am currently seeking my second Bachelors Degree in Media and Communications from East Tennessee State University in order to pursue freelance writing and design.
