About Kyra Odum

A stranger is simply a friend you haven't met."Ever since I was little, I gravitated to people of all ages and backgrounds. I love discovering new cultures and different perspectives. I was always known for my charisma, somewhat unfortunate lack-of-distrust for strangers, approachability, listening skills, and occasionally great advice. I was able to develop these skills through my assorted sports career, most noticeably through track. I started track in sixth grade, and within the first couple of weeks, I stood out. Coaches noticed my determination and coachability. My teammates noticed my eclectic, bubbly personality and general interest and concern in their events. By eighth grade, people were looking to me for leadership and inspiration. By ninth, I became the unofficial team ambassador/captain, a position I much enjoyed. Over the course of my high school seasons, I grew to know, love, and support all my teammates and coaches no matter the event. When I started to explore my growing interest in accounting and business, I volunteered to help analyze and oversee the sports budget and general sales. There I discovered nearly in missing money, helped the teams better keep track of their concession stand sales, and recommended ways to increase season profits. Through my school's dual enrollment program, I was able to explore these topics further. Now, I hope to explore my love for accounting further and eventually attain a position that'll allow me to utilize my interpersonal skills, varied business knowledge, and analytics skills.
