Background

About L. B. Lyons

As a first-generation college graduate, the first female, and the first alumnus to serve as Vice President of Advancement at Grand View University, I have a deep personal connection and commitment to the opportunities and upward mobility offered through education. My career has been defined by fostering meaningful connections, driving innovative fundraising initiatives, and creating sustainable pathways for growth. Combining strategic leadership with hands-on involvement, I pursue growth in my communities through resource development, stakeholder engagement, and people-first leadership. Whether through my professional experiences working in Division 1 collegiate athletics or private higher education philanthropy, I have continually embraced opportunities to expand my expertise in fundraising, marketing and communications, resource development, alumni engagement, and leadership. Along this journey, I’ve spearheaded innovative donor engagement strategies, broken revenue and attendance records, and led high-performing teams to exceed ambitious goals. My diverse experiences reflect my commitment to advancing institutions and creating meaningful impact. My family and I believe in being invested in and giving back to our community. We participate in, provide for, and promote the organizations and causes we are passionate about.
