As Principal - Property Management, I ultimately oversaw all operations for the Property Management business unit at a Commercial brokerage firm. I was brought on to the company to start and run the Property Management division where this division did not exist prior to my arrival. Within less than three years, we grew the portfolio from 0 to over 4 million square feet of properties. Some of the properties include extensive full building renovations which we oversaw. I oversaw staffing of all team members (both administrative and engineering) needed to run the properties and scaled according to growth, created and consistently implemented all policies and procedures for operations and accounting, researched and put into place an accounting system, tenant service request portal, as well as an accounts payable processing system. I was responsible for overseeing the financials of our assets and recognizing areas of improvement and taking action to be sure we were providing our clients with the best customer service, and more importantly, gaining and maintaining their trust to manage their assets. In addition, I worked with the banks to handle any issues, I took care of all wire transfers and cash movement between accounts, as well as making all distributions to property investors based on the distribution schedules per property. I worked to head up our engineering team and with our building engineers to set up preventative maintenance schedules and ensure the building equipment was taken care of appropriately as well as ensure they were taking care of tenant service requests in a timely manner and documenting their work in the online service request portal. I am a consistent motivator and advocate for the property management team. I enjoy creating an employee experience that helps our group want to come back day after day.
