About Lacey Jackson

Adaptability is key. My name is Lacey Jackson. I am a senior Legal Communications major and Political Science minor at Howard University. I have experience working in a team, and as an individual. I was successful in both settings which highlights one of my greatest skills adaptability. The pandemic has allowed me to broaden my skills, and sharpen others.The experience I gained with photography, brand creation, and the legislative process during my summer internship makes me more than prepared to handle any situation.The most shaping events from that experience would be speaking at my state capital in favor of a house bill. As a preview to my resume I would also like to highlight my experience. Along with being an intern at Daughters Beyond Incarceration, I was given the opportunity to showcase my social justice advocacy skills. Daughters Beyond Incarceration were invited in partnership with Attorney Nia Weeks to advocate at the Louisiana State Capital for the natural hair bill to at the Louisiana Congress. While at the capital I was allowed to speak impromptu in support of the bill which was approved by the council, and is now implemented into law. The experience allowed me to draw from old skills and create new ones.
