About Lacy Kendrick

For the Myers-Briggs geeks of the world, I'm an ESFJ. For you Enneagram folks, I'm a 1w2. Both of those are really great ways of telling the world that I am a natural-born leader with a passion for building relationships, who values the gifts, talents, and experiences each person brings to the table. I spent much of my post-undergrad work in retail management where I learned how to relate to all sorts of people and develop teams that produce excellent results. Making the move to higher education and non-profits was born out of a desire to show my own children that life is about more than just bringing home a paycheck. My masters degree taught me to think critically, be open-minded, and always invite others to share their stories. Like many other millennials out there, it is vital that I be in an organization that aligns with my values and passion. The work I do needs to matter. I've been called "relentless" and, to be honest, it might be the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. I am my worst critic and my biggest challenger. I believe we can always find common ground to accomplish something bigger than ourselves. My least favorite phrase on the planet is,"We've never done it that way before." I'm a go-getter who doesn't typically take "no" for an answer but I try to use that trait for good and not evil. We are part of something bigger than ourselves and I love being a part of a movement that seeks to invest in its community and move us into a more inclusive and welcoming place. My job in philanthropy allows me to give staff and volunteers the opportunity to engage the community in the vital programs and projects that promote total wellness for all.
