He moved to Texas in 1988 and received his Bachelor of Business degree in finance from Southern Methodist University in 1992. From 1990 to 1994, he worked for AMR Combs, the general aviation affiliate of American Airlines, where he gained a broad-based background in the corporate and commercial aviation industries.
