About Lael Scott

I have worked at, and grown with Wolters Kluwer, since 2001 when I joined the company working with the Aspen Payroll Department. Over the years, as Wolters Kluwer has undergone dynamic change, I have had the opportunity to grow across multiple positions within the company. In my various roles within Wolters Kluwer I have developed extensive project design, project management, communication, multi-department coordination, reporting and problem analysis skills. For the past seven years, I have worked in the Internal Controls group helping to execute and grow the current Internal Control and Risk Assessment programs. I have helped harmonize the risk management and business process design across these business units, utilizing a combination of corporate and industry best practices as well as adhering to regulatory compliance. These experiences have helped me develop a well-rounded skill set that involves communication within my teams, Management, internal and external auditors. It has also strengthened my project management skills, time management and the ability to report findings to various stakeholders, as well as develop and execute sustainable remediation efforts to address risk and compliance issues. In addition to the numerous growth opportunities I have pursued through my responsibilities within Wolters Kluwer, I have also continued to pursue my education in the field of Risk Management. Currently I have applied for, and been accepted, to sit for Certified Fraud Examiner certification within 2018.
