About Lail Grant

For the last 28 years, I have been a team leader at UTPB, working in environmental compliance, general health, safety, and the construction of a growing university focused on transitioning from a liberal art to a STEM focus. We are delighted with the recent expansion of duties to support the functions of workers' compensation, risk management, and radiation safety. Our proactive move from a simple compliance department to a consulting-focused leadership has been liberating to our faculty's research efforts. Our vibrant and diverse campus community has doubled in size and is on the cusp of doubling again. In support of our student growth and the number of degrees and certifications offered, the construction of new facilities has tripled the campus size. With an increase of a million square feet of new, state-of-the-art science, information technology, allied health, residential housing, general academics, and a nationally recognized performing arts venue. Now we are transforming our campus again to bring dated spaces to renewed modern facilities more in line with our commitment to student success, with sustainable energy generation and water capture and reuse practices. Such change requires agility, insight, and working as a multifaceted team willing to learn and adapt to the ever-changing needs.
