About Laina McWhorter

With over 20 years of experience in photography, I am a versatile and creative photographer, small business owner, and visual storyteller. I have a BFA in Photography from Arizona State University and a passion for capturing and producing images that reflect the beauty, diversity, and complexity of the world. I have worked on various projects and assignments for publications, media outlets, and clients, ranging from personal portraits and events to weddings, live music, sports, commercial and editorial work. I have owned and operated a handful of small businesses such as Laina McWhorter Photography, iiMAGE Fine Art Printing and a brick and mortar shop named Subjective Vintage over the years. At Laina McWhorter Photography, I specialize in photojournalism, street and travel photography, which I consistently pursue for publication, TV/film and fine art exhibitions. My work has been featured in Inspired Eye Magazine, ABC 15, HBO, The Sun Magazine, Nailed Magazine, Drift Travel Magazine and more, showcasing my versatility and style. At Subjective Vintage, established in 2019, my partner and I sourced and sold art, music, decor, collectables, clothing, ephemera and nostalgia from the 1960s-1990s in our brick and mortar store and at pop up markets across the region, creating memorable curated shopping experiences for our customers. I am also well versed in wide format printing and framing thanks to my time spent as owner/operator of iiMAGE Fine Art Printing where I used my skills and knowledge to produce high-quality reproductions for my clients.
