About Lainey Keane

Having taught Senior Infants for two years in an Educate Together School in Co. Dublin, I pursued a a Professional Doctorate in Educational and Child Psychology in Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick. Previousy, I studied for a B.Ed. in Education and Psychology at Mary Immaculate College. I also hold a Graduate Diploma in Early Intervention from Trinity College Dublin. I have a particular interest in educational and developmental psychology, as well as occupational/organisational psychology. I took part in the European Federation of Psychology Students' Associations (EFPSA) European Summer School in Austria in July 2014 following which I was accepted into the Junior Researcher Programme. As part of the programme, I completed a month-long internship in Cambridge, August 2015. From an education perspective, I have had experience working in over 10 primary schools, including special needs schools, DEIS schools, as well as rural, urban and hospital schools. I also have experience working in a Sub-Saharan context; in 2013, I taught in a primary school in Swaziland. I have particular interest in the area of assessment, and specialised in this area during my education degree, as well as in my psychology degree. I have a number of national and international publications both in the area of education and in the area of psychology. I have also presented at a number of international and national psychology conferences. I am currently working as a senior psychologist with the HSE.
