About Lakesia Toomer

Lakesia Toomer is the Executive Director of Next Level Community Development Center Inc, a 501(c)(3) community-based organization dedicated to serving marginalized youth and families through a variety of programs, including after-school, summer enrichment, college and career readiness, prevention/intervention, teen leadership, job clubs, and parent support. As a skilled program developer, youth development and non-profit consultant, grant writer, and strategist, Lakesia has successfully secured over $10.5 million in funding for numerous organizations throughout Georgia. Before committing herself to the service of at-risk youth, Lakesia worked for ten years as an attorney negotiator at State Farm Insurance Company. During her tenure at State Farm, she was actively involved in the Minority Internship Board, the Community Outreach Council, and The Policy Council Board for Bibb County Head Start. Lakesia holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Georgia Southern University and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercer University School of Medicine. She currently serves on several boards, including the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services Office of Prevention and Community Support Advisory Board, the Georgia Department of Education 21st Century Community Learning Center Advisory Board, the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Board, the Gwinnett County Advisory Board, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She is also a proud alumna of Leadership Macon, class of 2017. Married to her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Lariel Toomer, Lakesia is the proud mother of Morgan, Chase, and Chad Toomer. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, reading, and engaging in ministry. Grateful for the opportunity to be used by God, Lakesia desires to hear Him say, “Well Done.”
