My name is Lakkari Eldridge I am currently working for Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Services, in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Unit, as Senior Project Lead. I am currently in my final year of study, Bachelor of Healthcare Science at Central Queensland University. I have previously completed my Diploma of Nursing as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse, Mater Education, and gone on to further advance my skills in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Care. With my experience in healthcare management, and leadership, advocacy skills, project management, and project leadership, and the ability to maintain stakeholder relationships, whilst supporting the growth of the workforce succession plans, growth of business plans, and maintaining the development of the workforce through training and accessing opportunities. My current role as Acting Director for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Unit, Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Services. Sees me overseeing the everyday operations of the ATSI unit in and team management. With project proposals and submissions for funding opportunities within the Primary Care and Tertiary Healthcare services, development of projects, overseeing implementation and consultation sessions, evaluating and data management, collection and reporting on all healthcare projects, and programs. Report briefings, and updates to the Executive Directors, to maintain ongoing tasks and activities of the ATSI unit. Whilst developing succession workforce planning, and implementation of strategic plans. Previous roles see me working for the peak body organisation for the community-controlled sector. As the State Health Programs Coordinator at Queensland Aboriginal Islander Health Council. Previous roles as health programs coordinator, clinic care coordinator, and nurse for the past three years in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander healthcare, through primary health care and not-for-profit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Healthcare organisations. My previous employment saw me managing a small team of five, including operationally coordinating the ins and outs of the complexity of Primary Health Care Services and Tertiary Health Care Services at Mulungu Health Service covering three sites in Mareeba, Kuranda and Atherton Cairns, Queensland. With the intent to complete a master's in business administration and health management, to continue to specialise in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Healthcare.
