As an Integrated Master in Professional Accounting (iMPA) student at the University of Texas at Austin, I am building a strong foundation for a career in public accounting through both rigorous academics and hands-on professional experience. During my internship at a public accounting firm in the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) and IT advisory space, I’ve worked directly on projects involving internal controls testing, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance—deepening my understanding of how firms help clients navigate complex business and technology risks. This experience has strengthened my analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. I've also gained insight into the advisory side of public accounting and how it complements core services like audit and tax by helping clients make more informed, risk-aware decisions.
