About Lamar Saunders

Over the years, working in health care has shown me that my calling is to be a nurse. I worked as a certified nursing assistant for four years. ​I am a very hard working individual and I have a strong passion for nursing and caring for those who cannot care for themselves. · I helped run two Red Cross Blood Drives at Rappahannock Community College. · I have participated in 3 mission trips. One to Haiti to help build sturdy homes and provide a 3-day bible camp for about 50 children. One to West Virginia and one to an Indian Reservation in the Appalachian Mountains both to help rebuild and refurbish houses for families in need. · I have helped cook and serve dinner to the homeless at Abingdon Episcopal Church in Gloucester, VA. · I have over 500 volunteer hours with the Mathews Boys and Girls Club helping to lead children in activities during the summer. · I volunteered at the Bay School of Arts in Mathews County for four summers working and leading children’s activities.
