About Lambros Doulos

He holds a PhD from the National Technical University of Athens. He holds a degree in Physics (University of Athens) and a Master of Science in Environmental Physics (University of Athens). He is an Associate Prof at the School of Applied Arts and Sustainable Development of the Hellenic Open University with scientific subject "Lighting Technology with applications in energy optimization and the coupling of Daylight and Electric Lighting in the Human Centric Environment". As a Researcher-Physicist works in research programs, measurements, studies and lighting projects. To date, he has participated in 67 research projects (1 as the main Scientific Researcher) from which more than 100 publications in scientific journals, international conferences, national conferences and national press have been published. Some of his research interests are the rational use and saving of energy in lighting systems, use of daylight in buildings, development of innovative photosensors, function of the human eye and the derived correlation between lighting, health and well-being, evaluation of lighting installations in buildings, streets and tunnels, lighting design and improvement of lighting installations, street lighting, light pollution, minimizing its negative effects and creating protected areas, tunnel lighting and lighting measurements both in street, tunnel and interior areas. He has collaborations with lighting companies and has carried out numerous lighting projects and studies. He has authored 2 books on lighting design and 8 chapters of collective volumes in corresponding books. He has also participated as a member of committees of Technical Instructions and legislation (KENAK 2017, KENAK 2021, TOTEE 20701-1 / 2017, 20701-4 / 2017, 20701-7 / 2021 Artificial and Daylighting of Buildings), as a member of the CIE International Lighting Committee (participation in 6 technical committees) and the ISO committee (participation in 1 technical committee) in drafting instructions and regulations. He has participated as a speaker in numerous lighting conferences, he is member of ASHRAE (President of the Hellenic Branch 2020-21) and official RELUX Certified Trainer and representative. Finally, he is an Associate Editor in the scientific journal Journal of Daylighting,(Solarlits ISSN:2383-8701) and has been a Guest Editor in 3 special issues on lighting in 2 journals, Sustainability (MDPI ISSN:2071-1050) and Electronics (MDPI ISSN:2079-9292).
