About Lan Yan

Holding a master's degree in Geomatics (Geographical informatics) and a bachelor's degree in energy engineering, Lan is currently working as a software developer for the geospatial technology group within Accenture Netherlands. Her main working responsibilities include data migration, software and server upgrade, data integration and data management for a drink water company client. She has done multiple projects both academically and professionally using multiple programming languages (Python and C++), ranging from point cloud segmentation, undersea image classification, to automatic query/mapping generation. While wearing her favorite dress and working on an intriguing project means almost a perfect day for her, what excites her most is seeing her technical expertise bringing positive impacts to the world we all live in. Outside her work you will find her inventing new recipes like chili oil cream salmon pasta, walking around her neighborhood trying to figure out the names of all the street plants, watching Dutch learning YouTube videos, or learning more about software development to keep up with the newest technologies.
