About Lance Brown

I received my undergraduate Biology degree from UNCW. Research included collecting and analyzing data on organisms in vitro and in vivo, as well as the field work coming along with the class load. I was able to produce reports related to given topics as well as projects from data collected inside and outside the classroom - our biggest one being a 22-page report determining the species of an unknown bacterial sample personally collected from an aquatic environment and analyzed using aseptic technique, gram-staining, catalase test, oxidase test, indole test, urea test, DNA sequencing, Biolog Plate Assay, PCR amplification, serial dilutions, and gel electrophoresis - providing experience within each of these topics. I am open to learning and engaging with more advanced research techniques. During this time I was also able to study subjects within my field ranging from Biotechnology, Epidemiology, Evolutionary Medicine, Genetics, Zoology, Microbiology, Organic Chemistry I & II, Biology of Cancer, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Biodiversity, Ecology, Medical Terminology, Human Anatomy & Physiology I & II, and Lifetime Wellness, including Environmental Sciences Lab Work Ecology Lab, Zoology Lab, Microbiology Lab, Biodiversity Lab, Cell Biology Lab (Fall 2015-Spring 2017). I would love to get back to studying and researching. Having been in the professional world and work force for two years now, I have acquired organizational skills, leadership skills in leading classrooms and teams of people from both teaching and working with youth, as well as laboratory and fieldwork skills given the positions I have been a part of.
