About Lance Chaplin

Currently I am working with EllisDon as a field coordinator in the earthworks division, and prior to that as a 3D Surveying Specialist in Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) department. In my most recent past job experience, I had the opportunity to work on one of largest construction projects in Canada. As a summer employee for Peace River Hydro Partners, we were the main Civil Works Contractor for the BC Hydro - Site C Dam project in Fort Saint John.(An Estimated 8.7 Billion Dollar Total Project Cost). In this role, I worked in the Environmental Department and developed maps and collected survey data for various aspects of the project, such as application permits. The role required me to work with and support other departments including providing maps and information directly to the client. I have a good understanding of Arc GIS, and knowledge in programing language such as Python & Java. I have also recently developed skills with Autodesk software like recap, Navisworks, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and some basic Revit knowledge as well as point cloud processing software like Cyclone. I am very knowledgeable with using most 3D laser scanners, and even have my advanced drone license to capture aerial data, and am now starting to get into earthworks and soil management
