Seasoned aquaculture professional with over 30 years of hands-on experience in freshwater operations, hatchery management, and land-based aquaculture systems. Currently serving as Freshwater Director at Grieg Seafood BC, I lead strategic and operational initiatives across multiple sites in Gold River and collaborate with various contractors along the coast. Since beginning my aquaculture career in 1991, I’ve held progressive leadership roles with industry leaders including Mowi Canada, Cooke Aquaculture, and the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC. I’ve successfully managed broodstock programs, multi-species hatcheries, and recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) in both unionized and non-unionized environments across Canada and the U.S. In addition to operational leadership, I have hands-on experience managing capital projects of various scales — from site upgrades and hatchery builds to infrastructure modernization. My formal project management training supports a structured approach to planning, execution, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination. I’m also experienced in creating and managing contracts with suppliers, vendors, and service providers to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of goods and services. My technical strengths lie in freshwater fish rearing, site development, biosecurity, and production optimization, particularly for salmonid species such as Atlantic salmon, trout, kokanee, char, and sturgeon. Passionate about sustainability and innovation, I enjoy building high-performing teams and helping shape the future of land-based aquaculture.
