A seasoned, well rounded hotel and hospitality executive, Certified Hotel Industry Analyst, consultant, and Professor of Practice in Industry Analytics, Finance, Revenue Management/Cost Controls, Strategic Management and Leadership & Ethics. Experience in 4 hotel brands with significantly different operating standards ranging from a resort with 700 rooms on 440 acres, to a 1,500 room convention hotel and SQ FT of event space, including Renaissance in it's unique brand positioning. Focusing on operational, financial, and strategic thought leadership within the context of an MBA, Analytics, Financial Analysis combined with my operational and financial experience in the lodging Industry, I can provide unique insight to the Hotel Owner and Management Company relationship and am known for driving results. The diversity of my experience makes me somewhat uniquely qualified to be a General Manager or an Asset Manager-seeing both sides of the fiduciary responsibilities of any challenge or opportunity. While I am often known as a change agent as there is always opportunities for improvement, I also quickly recognize what IS working and working well. I firmly believe it's people first, at any level and I thrive in working on high performance teams that look past obstacles and find the resolutions and opportunities that invariably exists. I love the sales process from beginning to end and building relationships with the group meeting planner, as well as developing appropriate relationships in the community so existing relationships are there before a broader issue pops up, as they so often due. Having worked in 3 union hotels, I know the sensitivities that exist in those environments and can proactively support younger leaders that might be timid in those environments. I have had extraordinary opportunities to work at the Executive Team level at several of Marriott's biggest and/or most profitable hotels dramatically improving results in challenging or in challenged assets.
