As a Business Broker and M&A Intermediary with 30 year's experience, I help sellers exit and buyers enter the business-owning arena. As a business appraiser and valuation analyst, I appraise and value small to medium size businesses for a variety of purposes. As inventor of the MicroValuation, I have filled a market void for a much needed lower cost valuation, helping small business owners and acquirers who need to know the value of a given business. BIO I have over 30 years in Business Brokerage, Mergers & Acquisitions and Business Appraisals/Valuations and am a second-generation Business Broker. My father Kent Schmidt founded, at the time (1978-1998), the largest brokerage firm in the country, National Business Brokers, Inc. By NBB, Inc. became the number one company in the world for selling Car Dealerships, so I’ve seen it all. I started my career in the selling and valuing of businesses as a newly minted CPA with Coopers & Lybrand (Now Price Waterhouse, Coopers) and then went into the family business. Consequently, I have assisted in the sale and transfer, as an agent or consultant, in hundreds of businesses and have valued thousands of businesses over my career. I am a CVA (Certified Valuation Analysts) with NACVA (National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts), a CBI (Certified Business Intermediary) with the IBBA (International Business Brokers Association) and a member of CABB (California Association of Business Brokers) and was their Treasurer and on their board for the 2015-16 term. I now serve CABB as the Instructor for CABB-201, Advanced Recasting & Valuation. My career in selling businesses, along with my background as a CPA and my expertise as a CVA, uniquely qualify me in the Valuation arena as well. I have worked as an Expert Witness as well and provide Valuations for many purposes. I have a sub-specialty in valuing car dealerships due to my association with National Business Brokers Inc. Finally, I have created the MicroValuation. There has always been a need for a low cost ($599) valuation option for buyers and sellers, so I have created one.
