About Landen Blize
Presently, I am a junior high language arts and social studies teacher with Edmonton Public Schools. My classes incorporate the table top role playing game "Dungeons & Dragons" as a literacy support and emotional/social intervention tool. Essentially, students collaboratively storytell and write an awful lot about their characters' journeys. Previously, I taught in a private high school for 5 years, and as a Connections (students with severe behavior and leading disabilities) teacher for Edmonton Public Schools for 5 years. Additionally, I obtained my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Yorkville University in December 2022. My capstone project was a literature review focused on four primary challenges confronted by adolescents with behavioural and learning challenges and the practical approaches teachers can take to support their students. In 2016, I participated in an education tour of Finland and Sweden to discover differences between our education systems and to determine what improvements could be made at a local level.
