How does an aspiring investment banker end up transforming fashion and retail brands across Asia and the Middle East? I’m Lander Isasi, a seasoned retail executive passionate about driving business growth and innovation. With over 15 years of experience, I've led significant transformations within retail, specializing in digital transformation, omnichannel expansion, and total brand turnarounds. After receiving my undergraduate degree in finance in the USA, I began what I thought would be a long career as an investment banker in London. However, a chance opportunity with Inditex changed my path and sparked my passion for retail. My initial role involved handling logistics, IT, and procurement, but I quickly advanced through the ranks, spearheading Inditex's expansion in the UK and Ireland. I was then selected to develop Inditex’s presence in China, a market that was still in its early stages. Overseeing the growth from 20 to 61 stores in 15 months, I focused on creative hiring and training solutions to build a capable team. I later moved to Shanghai to drive growth in Eastern China, launching Zara.com and T-mall, significantly contributing to the company's revenue. Following my success in China, I led Inditex’s Southeast Asian expansion, transforming underperforming franchises. I later joined Guess, managing the Middle East, Southeast Asia, India, and Australia divisions. There, I transformed the business from a wholesale model to a vertically integrated operation, reinvigorating the brand. Today, I am the CEO of 6IXTY8IGHT, a leading lingerie and casual wear brand. Under my leadership, we have expanded our retail and e-commerce presence across Asia, focusing on product quality, speed to market, and customer satisfaction. Beyond my professional achievements, I hold an Executive MBA from the National University of Singapore and UCLA. I am fluent in English, Spanish, and Filipino, with limited business proficiency in Mandarin. I value honesty, humility, and diligence, and I approach my work with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. Outside work, I am an avid golfer, a football enthusiast, and a history buff. I enjoy exploring new places and learning about different cultures and economic theories.
