About Landon Travis

Throughout my life I have always had an intense passion working with financial matters. Whether that is monitoring the stock market, coming up with a budget, or even deciding between bank accounts, I have always enjoyed working with money. Due to that passion, I graduated college in 2014 and immediately began working in the financial services industry for Fidelity Investments and earned my general securities licenses. I started out as a Financial Representative, assisting our clients with a wide array of transactions. From placing trades to assisting with the website, I worked with clients on many different transactions. I held that role for a few months until I decided to pursue a role that I believed to be very fulfilling. I began working as an Inheritor Service Specialist helping to transition the assets to executors, trustees, and beneficiaries, when one of our clients passes away. This role, which required a great deal of empathy allowed me to enhance my EQ and work with clients to meet their financial goals through money inherited from a loved one. My analytical skills were also accentuated, as some of these accounts required complex asset splits. While I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Fidelity, I found this year to be the right time in my professional and personal life to pursue an MBA. I am now an MBA candidate at UNC's Kenan-Flagler School of Business with a focus on Consulting. After my MBA, I hope to work for either a Consulting Firm or Corporation on solving complex problems that arise within firms.
