About Landry Rushing

As an Exercise Science with a concentration in fitness and performance with a minor in Physical Education I have learned to manage my time well which resulted in me achieving an overall GPA of 3.85. Currently, I am a teaching and coaching intern at Savannah Country Day School. This position has exposed the behind the scenes of high school and how much time management and knowledge both teaching and coaching require. Along with time management, I have learned how to reformat lessons and labs so that they are more relevant and easier to understand to the students as well as observing how each class offers their own type of learning environment and that teachers need to adapt to it. On the coaching side of things, I have been able to form relationships with the players while still acting as an assistant coach and keeping my ears open to their ideas and concerns. During the last five summers, I have maintained the role of nanny to a now 7 and 12 year old. Over that time, I have been able to form a close relationship with the girls and a deep sense of trust with their parents. This role has taught me extreme responsibility and putting others above myself.
