About Lane Murphy

Following service in the United States Air Force, I chose to pursue my degree in engineering to continue to encourage positive change in the world around me. Having graduated from Robert Morris University in May 2014, I have now gained 6 years of engineering experience in diverse environments that have helped me build a well-rounded skill base and has contributed to my passion for challenging myself to seek out potential for further growth and learning. My experiences include aircraft maintenance, product design, application engineering, hydraulic testing, gathering and analyzing data, construction, mechanical and manufacturing engineering processes. Industry knowledge includes aerospace, steel, bonding resins, waste water treatment and plant construction, plastic free standing tank fabrication, steel platform fabrication, pipe fabrication, valve selection, hydraulics and filter systems manufacturing. I hold myself to the 3 core values of the US Air Force and the 14 leadership traits I learned in MC JROTC. The 3 core values of the Air Force are integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do. The 14 leadership traits are justice, judgement, decisiveness, integrity, dependability, courage, bearing, loyalty, unselfishness, endurance, knowledge, initiative, tact, and enthusiasm.
