I have over seventeen years of legal experience in healthcare matters including Stark, Anti-Kickback, False Claims Act, risk management, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, medical malpractice defense, Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement appeals, HIPAA/HITECH compliance and employee training, employee benefits and health plans, hospital/physician contracts, peer review, risk management, as well as general litigation experience, including premises liability defense and product liability defense. As a healthcare attorney, I have published articles in Mississippi Medical News, Delta Business Journal, and Mississippi Business Journal and have given presentations on topics ranging from the Affordable Care Act to the HIPAA Omnibus Rule to groups such as the Medical Group Management Association of Mississippi, Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians, Mississippi Association of Medical Staff Services, and various medical clinics and civic groups. I previously served as Chair of the American Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division Health Law Section and served as the President of Jackson Young Lawyers and as a Director of the Young Lawyers Division of the Mississippi Bar Association. I am a founding member and Past President of the Jones County Young Lawyers Association and currently serve as Chair of the Health Law Section Committee for the Mississippi Bar Association.
