About Lang Bates

Lang has been with BBL Architects (formerly known as Architects Barrentine.Bates.Lee AIA) since 1976. He brings more than 35 years of design experience to the project team. He has served in this role on projects for numerous school districts including but not limited to Beaverton School District, Lebanon Community School District, Lake Oswego School District, North Clackamas School District and Gresham-Barlow School District that have involved the design of new facilities, remodels and additions. Lang has designed a wide variety of public facilities for many Oregon cities and counties, the State of Oregon and the Oregon Military Department. Lang also has designed multiple bank facilities for Oregon Bank, Security Pacific Bank, Pacific One, West One, Key Bank and Bank of the West as private clients as well as corporate offices for Pacific Power, Banfield Pet Hospital and major expansion projects for the Domaine Serene Winery. He is a skilled facilitator who understands how to develop consensus and has worked with numerous clients and client types to develop and enhance facilities. An award winning designer, his projects are known for the infusion of natural light and energy saving measures.
