I am a tenured assistant professor (professor adjunto nível 1) at the Structural Engineering Department of Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG) in Brazil, with a PhD in Structural Engineering by the UFMG, and master’s degree and bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering by Università degli Studi di Firenze. My research activities are in the field of computational mechanics, especially meshless methods, applied to physically and geometrically nonlinear problems, and to concrete structures, with a recent interest in the field of biomechanics and in the field of artificial intelligence applied to structural engineering. I am a member of the development team of the open-source program INSANE (INteractive Structural ANalysis Environment).
