About Laquanda Tysinger

Native of Lexington, North Carolina, I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and African American Studies. I obtained my Juris Doctorate from North Carolina Central University - School of Law in 2011. While enrolled in Law School, I worked as a Law Librarian Research Assistant providing guidance and conducting legal research for a team of Legal Writing and Research professors. In addition, I worked as an intern at the Durham County Attorney Office and the Brenman Immigration Law Firm in Chapel Hill, NC. I have focused my career on US and global Immigration issues since starting employment with IBM Corporation in 2012. Since 2012, I have managed, trained and mentored multiple teams on identifying trends in federal regulations and USCIS adjudications, interpreting the Code of Federal Regulations, the Federal Registry, USCIS memos and proposed Public Law changes. I am a Subject Matter Expert in US Immigration Law with specific knowledge of federal processes for H-1B, L-1, TN, E-3, H1B1, J-1and F-1 visas and PERM categories. As US Immigration Team Lead, I work with legal vendors on determining tactics and strategies for Request for More Evidence (RFE), drafting RFE responses and reviewing contracts for compliance with internal and external requirements, including federal processes.
