About Laquisha Deshazor

I am a native of Virginia, moved to Charlotte in 2019 to explore different career opportunities this city has to offer. I have many years of experience with education and mental health services. My current and past role as a counselor I have assisted and/or still assisting in the direct care and management of children, adolescent, and young adult residents age 7 to 21 years as prescribed by the physician and treatment team; to provide supervision, safety, and crisis management for the resident population; to complete documentation of resident behavior and participation in programming; to adhere to the scheduled activities; role model positive, mature behavior; utilize positive behavioral strategies to minimize resident crisis and maximize success. My current role as a patient services coordinator is serve as a liaison between providers, patients and families. As part of my position, I am required to timely and accurately record patient demographics, insurance information, patient charges and collections. Scheduling patient appointments in a timely and accurate manner. I am also required to give patients, providers and coworkers a warm welcome. As a teacher I have assisted in the direct care and management of children age birth to 11 years of age; to provide supervision, safety and responsible for the development of preschool children; developing lesson plans, supervising academic and emotional development, maintaining open communication with parents, and helping children with transitions that limits to behavior; utilize positive behavioral strategies to minimize crisis and maximize success.
