About me: With a master’s degree in German from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an undergraduate degree with honors from Northwestern University, I have been able to work with businesses from Kyiv to Hong Kong. I currently work with Interlake Maritime Services. I started my career with Deutsche Bank in Germany, and then in the world of branding and advertising with Leo Burnett in Germany, doing international account management before moving into e-commerce with Intershop Communications, Commerce.Net and Aberdeen Group in the US. I went on to work for the man widely regarded as the father of “tms”, transportation management systems, Mitch Weseley."While I was with Eastman Ventures and while was working for G-log, Lara was instrumental in establishing and maintaining a critical partnership"-Mark Klopp Since G-Log, I have led my own corporate development and strategy consulting firm, advising and consulting to CEOs and boards in the middle market. I have worked with for profit and not for profit, within corporate vc, within private equity as a consultant with Macquarie-backed talent, and with CEOs seeking investment opportunities as much as those needing consulting expertise for turnaround and product/business launch situations. More recently I worked with one client, Group50, doing value stream mapping for a $400m client as a sub contracted consultant. My work with another client, Miratech Group, a Kyiv based global IT outsourcing YPO company, was as strategic advisor and director of strategic marketing. LARA Abrams Communications, LLC is my company. My company first became known for having started and written the Abrams Clean Tech Report blog for years in Silicon Valley as much for having landed Creo Capital’s Rob Holland and a colleague on the cover of Middle Market Growth Magazine for a WWP-Flagship Logistics Group contact center launch for which I was the Publicist. Roles I have served in for clients include VP Business Development, VP Corporate Development, Strategic Advisor, Contract Analyst (for Bersin before their acquisition by Deloitte) and my favorite role - that of Mom. I was an avid downhill skier before moving to Cleveland. Mt. Bachelor is my mountain of choice. Northwestern University alum. WCAS ‘92. Alpha Gamma Delta Lambda Chapter. Also University of Wisconsin Madison alum ‘93, MA German. Took one PR course through UC Berkeley as well while at Intershop Communications. Former Stevie Awards judge.
