About Lara Britton

I'm a skilled creative who is comfortable in front of and behind the camera. A classically trained pianist and opera singer with over 3 decades of experience in live productions, I bring that back and front of the house knowledge with me to my filmmaking. I am the classic multi-hyphenate (writer, producer, director, dresser, actor and musician) so I am versatile - your get-it-done gal. I bring my former project manager experience to my producing - I like to think about it as blending the logistical and the creative in terms of filmmaking. I have produced several short narrative films which have done well on the film festival circuit. MUERTE was an official selection for the Austin Film Festival (2018) and semi-finalist at the Austin Art House Film Festival (2019). I also acted in this film and received a best actress nomination at the Oregon Scream Week Horror Film Festival. SIDESTEP won for best director at the ME Film Festival (2021) and Filmmaker of the Year at the Austin Revolution Film Festival (2022).
