About Lara Cripps

Hello, I'm Lara. Originally from Wales but grew up in Peru. My parents owned an adventure tourism business- Amazonas Explorer and since I could walk I was their guinea pig for the best family routes! As cliche as it seems, I started tourism young (and I mean it!) as soon as I could talk or peel an avocado I would be off assisting one of the trips in the kitchen, up to becoming a competent bike mechanic and route expert in Peruvian historical sites and tourist attractions. I was briefly In Country Operative for Choose a Challenge, running their trip on the ground and taking care of large groups of students. I did International Baccalaureate in Peru and took a long Gap year to explore Peru. I ended up in Grupo Inca doing a bit of everything from high-end alpaca garment marketing for KUNA to Agroindustry and pomegranate picking for AGROINCA. A life-changing 3 months in industry. I then returned to the UK to be a full time carer for my grandmother and to find a university. I achieved a BSc Renewable Energy at Exeter University, I had many extracurriculars like representative role as SSLC chair in the student union and became President for Kernow Scouts and Guides Association and the Falmouth and Exeter Hispanic Society as well as joining many clubs and societies. I joined Stantec's grad scheme in Project Management combining the skills I'd learnt during my degree for transmission and distribution with the skill and logistics of planning trips.
