About Lara Marcus

Marine biologist with more than 10 years of experience in the field of marine ecology, marine pollution, and conservation. I have dedicated my career to investigating the dynamics of marine ecosystems, as well as to evaluate the effects of anthropogenic impacts to marine ecosystems. My research has led me to develop a deep understanding of marine ecosystems ranging from the study of microalgae to megafauna in environments as diverse as the tropics and Antarctica. Recently I have focused on the study of marine plastic pollution and associated chemicals. Throughout my career I have developed strong leadership and project management skills, as well as an extensive network of collaborators. Outreach and engagement with the public through citizen science are also an essential part of my work as a researcher and conservationist.
